Beacon Community Midwifery

Nicole Primoff, Grace Rice, Sarah Colbath

About

Nicole is a licensed midwife and women’s health nurse practitioner. She graduated from the Yale School of Nursing after working in policy and advocacy at Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), where she was inspired to start her own clinical career. Throughout her clinical and professional experiences, Nicole has been fortunate to practice in home, birth center, and hospital settings. She is passionate about lactation support and is a Certified Lactation Counselor. In addition to her clinical credentials, Nicole holds an MA in international affairs from the New School and a BA in human rights and political studies from Bard College. She grew up in Vermont and now lives in the Hudson Valley with her family. She recently gave birth to the second of her strong and spirited daughters at home in Beacon, NY. Nicole founded her own home practice, Beacon Community Midwifery, after becoming disillusioned by the lack of community support and wraparound care offered to families giving birth in the standard American obstetric model. She hopes to offer families a different way.
