Mama Bear Midwifery

About
I am a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM), a Licensed Midwife (LM), and I also hold a Master's in Social Work. I became a midwife because I want health care to be a positive, empowering, and transformative experience. Whether it be a check-up, family planning, or home birth, we all have the right to be treated with compassion, respect, and as the experts of our own experience.
I graduated from Nurse Midwifery school at the University of California, San Francisco in 2007. I started my career as a hospital-based midwife and am very appreciative of the diverse experiences I have had, ranging from home-like natural birth experiences to caring for clients with high-risk pregnancies. I moved to home birth in 2015 to support a wider variety of natural birthing options. I also wanted to have more quality time with clients and continuity of care.
Along with Midwifery, I have a passion for herbalism, martial arts, yoga, the outdoors, and gardening. I am grateful to my ancestors, midwife elders, family, and friends who have supported me along my path.
