As a midwife, I see my role as primarily an educator and a supporter.

I offer my knowledge, training, and experience, as well as evidence-based information. I will answer your questions or help you find the answers if I don't have them. I also see compassion, humor, and deep listening as essential to developing a connection with my clients and allowing me to provide excellent care.

As my client, I expect you to engage with and take responsibility for your care. It is my job to help you understand your choices. It is your job to make the decisions that are right for your body, your birth, your baby, and your family.

I will support your informed decisions, while also using my experience to ensure your safety at all times. This model may be new to you. That's OK! I will help guide you through this process of collaborative decision-making.
