I was trained in freestanding birth centers in Tennessee and Florida, graduating from Vanderbilt University in 2001. Since returning to New York State in 2002, I’ve had the privilege to care for families in a variety of community and hospital settings. The home waterbirth of my oldest daughter forever changed my life and my approach to birth. The arrival of an adopted daughter and a set of twin daughters completed my family. With each new baby, a new family is born. This is a sacred time - the choices we make about birth reflect our values and set the tone for the family we want to become.
