Yuen Kwan Chan
About
Yuen Kwan Chan is a New York State CNM and OB/GYN NP since 2009. She started her career as an RN at NorthShore University Level 3 NICU in 2007. She received her BSN and MSN degrees from Stony Brook University in 2009 while she was a nurse in the NICU. During her time at North Shore LIJ, she discovered her true passion for women's health and babies. Being fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, she has devoted most of her midwifery career to empowering women about natural birth through education and providing individualized care for women in the Asian community.
Since then, she has had over a few thousand successful deliveries during her career over the past decade. She furthered her education to better serve the community by earning her Doctorate in Midwifery and Women's Health in 2014. With diverse experience in different birth settings, ranging from hospitals, birthing centers, and home births, Yuen Kwan is confident and experienced in providing each woman the birth of her dreams. She believes that every woman deserves the best individualized care and to remember this precious moment in her life.
She has affiliations and delivering privileges with NYU Langone Hospital, Maimonides Medical Center, and Brooklyn Birthing Center. With a passion for education, she is also an adjunct faculty member at Adelphi University's College of Nursing. She is a certified lactation consultant (CLC). She is passionate about breastfeeding and helping mothers with infant care.
