Edine Warren, a Certified, Licensed Midwife, and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), embarked on a journey of empowerment after experiencing birth trauma during her first daughter’s birth in 2014. Inspired by her own experience, she decided to share her story and turn the negativity into a positive force for herself and others.

During her research and sharing birth stories, Edine stumbled upon the term ‘doula,’ which ignited her passion for the birthing world. Despite holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, she made a bold career change in 2016 to become a certified full-spectrum doula at Ancient Song Doula Services. In this role, she provided care for underserved communities.

Edine’s dedication to this new path led her to pursue midwifery school after completing a preceptorship with both hospital and home birth midwives. She graduated from SUNY Downstate and became a licensed midwife in New York and New Jersey. Throughout her career as a doula and now as a midwife, Edine has been committed to reproductive justice and birth equity for people of color. This is a topic that she frequently discusses in her community work.

In 2018, as a second-year midwifery student, Edine had the privilege of experiencing a home birth with her second daughter. This transformative and enlightening experience further solidified her love for birthing families and their right to make informed choices about their birthing experiences.

Since then, her offerings have included midwifery work, monitrice services, and assisting births with numerous out-of-hospital midwives in NY and NJ. With over a decade of birthing experience and a deep commitment to personalized care, she strives to create a warm and supportive environment where expectant parents feel empowered and heard. Her approach to midwifery is rooted in Ubuntu; with compassion, respect, and evidence-based practices, ensuring that each individual receives the highest quality of care tailored to their unique needs and preferences.

Outside of midwifery, Edine is actively involved in various activities. She homeschools her children and volunteers to teach kids and young adults of color about midwifery in both public and private schools. She also enjoys reading books about herbal healing, sharing knowledge, and learning more about black and Haitian culture. Additionally, she spends time with her loving husband and her two beautiful daughters, whom she breastfed for over 3 ½ years.
